The Addams Family Values - SNES

Played for: 15 minutes

On the up side, this game is totally different than the first two.  On the down side, that doesn't make it any better.

I was so excited to see it was some kind of top-down wander around adventure.  It actually even looks a lot like Link to the Past, with the rain effects and the art style.  That excitement was quickly dashed.

I found some stairs and went down and shot my electricity (!?) at a plant and killed it (!?!?).  I don't remember the movie much, so I don't know if it makes sense that he has electricity, but I'm guessing it doesn't.  As you use it more, it gets shorter, like he's losing charge.  But it doesn't seem to recharge either.  I don't know.  Anyways.  Killed the plant, and moved on.  The grandma gave me some cookies.  Another plant gave me a skull key and told me to find the rose.  I've been doing everything I can think of and I just can't find the rose.  Also, I just don't care.  Movement is slow and annoying, there's no direction on what happen

The game seems to use way more buttons than it needs to to do simple things.  One button talks, but another button activates, but another button uses items or something?  I'm not sure.  Even if I knew, I don't think this would be any better.

Hit it or Quit it?
Quit it.  This game is a trap.  Looked good at first, buy it dinner, take it home, but by the time you make it downstairs, there's a penis.  Again, somehow I'm left longing for the first game, and that's a bad sign.
